Life at NorthStar
The book “The Trellis and the Vine” describes the relationship between “the people” and “the ministries”. The church – all of us – are the vine. We need a trellis – structure and shape and opportunities to minister, to serve, and to love one another. But the vine is the goal of the trellis, not the other way around. We seek to be in each other’s lives, to make disciples, to build one another up, and to share the gospel, and to be a loving beacon of light in our community.
Our philosophy of ministry is to support the vine – to provide ample opportunities for support and fellowship for the whole family – while not overloading the family with programs every night of the week. We want the ministries to be about the people.
Men's Ministry
The men meet every Friday morning, 6:00am - 7:30am to study the word, and occasionally for ``Friday Night Fires`` to hang out and fellowship.
Women's Ministry
Our ladies meet for a bi-weekly book study, get together regular for craft nights, and are very connected to each other's lives.
Youth Group
Our middle school and high school youth meet every week for a time of fun, snacks, and hanging out, as well as a time of Bible study, discussion, discipleship, and mentoring.
Children's Ministry
We have Sunday School for kids up to 5th grade, held at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings, where they have an age-appropriate Bible lesson taught by vetted teachers.
Home Groups
Home groups are intentional times of fellowship and study, designed to foster relationships and live out the ``love one another`` commandments.
Discipleship
We have separate discipleship groups for men and women to meet together for ``intense fellowship`` - accountability, encouragement, and discipleship.
